Welcome to Virtual Picture This site consists of virtual interactive environments using IPIX technology. You may need to download the plugin to view some of the higher resolution images.

A Virtual Picture is an interactive, spherical image offering a complete field of view, from earth to sky, floor to ceiling, horizon to horizon. Never before has a technology so thoroughly captured the way we see the world with our own eyes.

A Virtual Picture is created from two opposing photographs captured by a fisheye lens. IPIX technology then remaps the images, seaming them into an immersive whole. Virtual Pictures can then be linked together, linked to traditional photographs and renderings, enhanced with audio or other types of files, or incorporated into other applications.

Once a Virtual Picture has been created, it can be used in a wide variety of ways:

  • Posted on a World Wide Web site for viewing by industry-standard web browsers, or with an embedded IPIX Java viewer.
  • E-mailed for remote viewing by a local IPIX Viewer, providing an easy and convenient way to share Virtual Pictures for business applications, or just for fun.
  • Embedded into a Microsoft PowerPoint™ presentation or other Microsoft Windows™ applications using the IPIX ActiveX viewer, allowing for IPIX viewing in a wide range of off-the-shelf application programs.
  • Loaded into MacroMedia Director™ and Authorware™ using the IPIX Xtra™ plug-in, allowing for the creation of compelling, high quality professional presentations.
  • Viewed from any Visual Basic, Visual C, or Visual C++ application program by using the IPIX Software Development Kit (SDK) package.

To view you will need to add the IPIX plug-in to your browser. The plug-in is free and is available HERE.
